Unlikely Stories and New Friendships - Photo Story

Hey everyone! Wow is that a long title XD Sorry about that, so I've been really wanting to do this photo story for a while so I hope you all enjoy it! Sorry that some of the pictures are bad by the way, the lighting in the doll house is terrible!!! I'll have better pictures coming up in future posts I promise :) I hope you like it! Tell me in the comments what's your favorite part!

Avery's point of view

So I was sitting on the coach watching The Lego Batman Movie, (Best. Movie. EVER!)

And Emily was reading some random book called Brave Emily.

Emily and I were the only ones home, I'm really not sure where everybody went, all I know is that Molly was at dance practice and Maryellen was at some sort of cooking class.

I looked over at Emily who looked pretty much absorbed by her book. Now I've been living here since July and I've never really hung out with Emily that much. So far we have basically nothing in common. But I really wanted to be friends, I just wasn't sure what to say.

Emily gave me a very uncomfortable look when she realized I was staring at her.

"Uh hi Emily, uh".... I stuttered

"Uh how's your book?" I asked her because it was the only thing I could think of saying.

"Very good thank you," she replied kindly.

"Awesome," I said trying to think of something else to say.

I noticed a very interesting necklace around her neck.

"Your necklace is awesome Emily! Where did you get it?" I said pointing to her necklace.

"Thank you, it was a gift from my grandfather before I left England," Emily replied as a sad look grew across her face.

"Oh," I answered. I don't know much about Emily's past in England, but I knew enough that it's not a good subject to bring up. So I felt really bad.

"Avery?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?"

Uh oh, I thought to myself, I know exactly what's coming...

"NO I DID NOT EAT THE WHOLE BAG OF REESES THAT JANET JUST BOUGHT!!!!"

"What?!?!" Emily asked surprised.

"Oh, That's not what you were going to ask?"

"No, I didn't even know that Janet bought Reeses."

"Oh," I sighed.

"No, I was going to ask what happened to your hand," Emily said pointing to my hand that was wrapped in bandages.

Oh, I thought to myself, I've never told anyone in the family about that... I bet she'll think I'm super cool when she hears this.

"Well, I'm glad you asked," I said as I got up off the coach.

"So it went like this, I was swimming at the beach,"

"And the next thing I know there's a giant shark in the water! It must of been 30 feet long! And its teeth were as long as my arm!"

" Needless to say, I totally won that battle."

"I kicked that shark's butt like an awesome person, and only had to sacrifice my fingers to do it."

After that I was expecting Emily to be gasping in amazement, but instead she was clinching a pillow and just staring at me.

So not knowing what to say I just sat down, we just sat in total awkward silence, until...

"Yo, what's up peeps!" Molly exclaimed as she walked in the room.

She launched her dance bag across the room,

Then threw herself on the couch so hard that it knocked me off the couch and nearly did the same to Emily.

"So, did you miss me?"  Molly asked.

"Uh huh," Emily replied readjusting herself on the couch.

"Yeah, thrilled to have you back Molly," I said sarcastically as I pulled myself off the floor.

Molly rolled her eyes at me and said " What did you two do to survive my absence?"

"Well," Emily began, "Avery told me about the 30 foot shark that ate her fingers."

"What?" Molly said in shock.

"Avery, that's not what happened."

"Uh, yes it is," I replied, "I think I would know what happened to my own hand."

"No it's not and you know it!" Molly yelled before walking over to her dance bag.

She picked up her bag and pulled out her phone.

"See Avery?" Molly said showing me my Ebay description, "American girl doll damage, both hands and foot chewed, probably by dog," Molly read out loud.

Emily gave me a confused look and said, "Your foot's chewed?" I could feel my cheeks turning bright red with embarrassment.

"Fine," I said standing up right in front of Molly, "It was a dog..."

" It was a Great Dane!"

"Oh brother!" Molly exclaimed, slapping her hand against her forehead.

"You are so weird, I'm going in my room, peace out people."

After Molly left the room I sat down with Emily. "I'm sorry, I guess I thought if I told you that I had beat up a shark that you'd think I was cool," I said to Emily.

She simply smiled and said "I'll be right back."

And with that Emily ran out of the room and down the ladder. (In case Katie didn't tell you, our house is in a loft above her bedroom)

I was going to say something, but she was gone before I had a chance. So I sat silently until...*CRASH!!!!*

"HI YA!!" I yelled trying to jump up off the couch like a super cool ninja but instead I tripped over myself and landed on the floor. Wow, that was embarrassing, glad nobody saw that.

I peeked around the corner to see what made that noise. But instead of seeing a army of evil robots trying to take over the world....

I saw Emily, and she was pushing a huge tub of....Legos?

She pushed the tub right in front of me as I stared in disbelief.

"Katie said we could play with her Legos for a while," She informed me.

"Wait a second, you play with Legos?"

"Uh huh, I had lots of Lego sets in England."

She started trying to push it again before I said....

"Here, let me help you."

So that's what we did for the next few hours, we talked and laughed and built all sorts of things.

We built a castle,

And we both agree that Andy is probably one of the cutest Lego figures ever. (I mean, look at him! he has short little legs and freckles!)

So even though Emily and I don't have a ton in common, I'm pretty sure we're going to be good friends,

I just know it.

THE END

Have an awesome day everyone,
- Katie :)

    1. Thank you so much Madison! That means a lot to me :) Thank you! My room is supposed to be an office so it's pretty small, so I was very excited to be able to set my doll house up in the loft.

  4. Awww poor Avery! How bad are her fingers? I guess her foot is not bad enough that you can't get shoes on her...

    1. I know, it's sad :( They aren't too bad though, the hand that's damaged the worst is the one wrapped in bandages. On that hand she's missing the top half of her fingers, but the other hand just has chew marks. The foot isn't bad enough that I can't put shoes on, but the tips of her toes are chewed so I usually put boots or shoes on her that will cover that.

    2. Aww, Avery! Maybe she could have gloves then. American Girl Fan did a craft on how to mittens for you doll. There's always the super expensive doll hospital! *winks* :)

    3. Oh that's a good idea! I'll have to check that out! LOL yeah, I've actually looked into that, it would be $45 dollars and they would replace the whole body. :0 Plus it's just kind of part of her story :)
