YOOOOO GUESS WHO'S RETURNED?! Tis I, haven't fallen off the October posting train yet LOL XD
We're taking a break from the villain posts for this one, but it's one I've been wanting to do FOREVER! The ghost photo shoot trend has been going on for a couple years at this point (Along with the Jack-o-lantern head one, but I'm not taking my dolls' heads off for that I'll leave that doll photo shoot up to someone else 'XD), and I've always thought it was so SO cute! Unfortunately, I did have some um... difficulties with this one lol!! First, I think I made the sheets too big, which made balancing the dolls a little tricky at times (Plus you couldn't see their shoes, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO A PHOTO SHOOT WITHOUT SHOE PICTURES THESE CONDITIONS ARE UNBEARABLE >:( ), but I was struggling so much cutting them out like there's no reason it should have been hard they're just big squares yet here I am, the Professional Struggler™ apparently XD I also drew the eyes too far apart so I had quite a hard time lining them up in a way that looked natural lol, not to mention I forgot sunglasses (the classic accessory for these photo shoots) and it was just kinda all over the place. Not even gonna lie I cried at least once 'XD So yeah, definitely not quite as long of a photo shoot because I was struggling with it so much (We drove for quite a while through the middle of the woods trying to find a spot for this photo shoot and needed to head home for a delicious taco salad dinner which I would consider a valid excuse LOLLL) that in the end I kinda ran out of time. But I'm still pretty happy with how it came out so I hope you guys like it!! Let me know who you think is hiding beneath the ghostly sheets and if you guess correct you.... um... get brownie points? Idk I would offer a pumpkin shaped sticker or a high-five or something but mailing those is outside the budget at the moment...
Okay I'm getting off track; no more wasting time, let's dive in!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOOK AT THOSE LITTLE GHOSTS I LOVE THEM!!! <3
This specific spot was definitely a lot greener than I was really looking for with this shoot, but the dried riverbed was just such a cool location that I couldn't pass it up!
You can probably kinda tell from this picture what I was saying before about the eyes. it was really hard to keep the folds from, well, folding right down the center of the face 'XD
Also on a side note, doing pictures on an EXTREMELY rocky and uneven surface was not one of my most brilliant choices... *-*
"BOO!"
Some of these pictures look a little funky now that they're uploaded to Blogger? But I can't tell if its Blogger being weird again or if there's something actually wrong with the pictures that won't work itself out after it's posted. So if it's the latter, I'm so sorry in advance *-*
YOOOOO PUMPKINS!!! I almost didn't have these for the shoot as a lot of our stuff got shuffled around when our house flooded earlier in the year and I couldn't find any of my doll Halloween stuff. Fortunately my mom came across them a week or two before this photo shoot while looking for something else so I'm very grateful for that, especially since I need the whole box of supplies for posts this month I would have disintegrated if I had to replace all my props XD
Fun fact, I got two of these pumpkins from Goodwill years ago I believe for the Headless Horseman post specifically, but the glitter was chipped off pretty bad. I was pretty set on having these pumpkins though so I bought glitter from Dollar Tree and slapped a bunch of Modge Podge and glitter onto the bare spots and called it a day XD
This one glitched out so bad at the top but it otherwise came out exactly how I wanted it to so y'all are still getting it anyway I'm sorry :')
I brought this strand of fall leaves because I honestly just didn't have a huge amount of faith that we'd be able to find any changing leaves around here yet lol! 'XD I'm pretty happy with the end result though so all worked out, I think.
Friendship <3
Any guesses on who these dollies are yet?
I like that this one gives the vibe that they help change over the seasons and have to put autumn up like a decoration lol
This one looked blurry on my camera but looks fine now so I really don't know what's going on anymore lol!!
Off to trick or treat!! :D
Ooof okay I need to repaint that bucket apparently, I didn't really notice before that it's chipped so bad 'XD
I have such a deep love of doll trick or treat buckets, I genuinely cannot be normal about these they are my favorite <3
I couldn't take it anymore I forced the shoe pics to happen LOLLLL!!!
Btw I know that looks like a hair but I promise it's not, it's a weed XD

So fun fact about this particular location, when we started walking around this area to see if it'd be good for photos, this little spot immediately caught my eye. With the twisty roots, rocks, and overall very ghosty vibes I knew it was perfect. Except for one problem, there was a random cluster of poison ivy where the doll further back is standing. Which was a HUGE bummer because once again this particular spot had the exact feel I was going for. So I was sad about that, then here comes my dad to the rescue like, "I got this." So, I took the other pictures first (which were facing the opposite direction) and he was like, "okay it's all good now." I asked my mom what he did because I thought I heard him say something about hand sanitizer. Apparently my dad pulled up the poison ivy WITH HIS BARE HANDS??? THEN JUST USED HAND SANITIZER AFTER?? Don't get me wrong I feel very loved but what the actual heck that was such an unhinged move I don't think he should have done that?? 'XD It's been a couple days now and he seems fine but NO ONE TRY THAT AT HOME I'M BEGGING YOU!!

THEY'RE SUCH CUTE LITTLE SPOOKIES I CAN'T!!!
Look at how cool and spooky those roots are!! Goodness this spot was the best, wish I could do the next lyric photo shoot here...
Wow, that's actually a really funky angle?? Oh well, I'm leaving it in, yolo XD
And now for the grand reveal, are you ready? Got your guesses?

SURPRISE!! WELCOME, RUTHIE!!
Okay, so this purchase was not planned in the slightest, LOL!! 'XD I really didn't think I'd get any more dolls on eBay, but when I saw this girl pop up for $37.00 USD (absolutely INSANE price for a Ruthie), I knew I couldn't pass her up. I've been keeping an eye out for her for a long time, and I'm so overjoyed to be adding her to the ADU family!!
Kit's also very excited to have her best friend to go on adventures with, if you couldn't tell lol!
Also I know they aren't both looking at the camera I was rushing at the end lol, that taco salad was calling my name for real XD
One final shoe pic, just for old time's sake ;)
----------------------------------------------------------------
YIPPPEEEEE!!! I've been so excited about this shoot, I thought it'd be such a fun way to introduce Ruthie and kinda have a grand reveal! :D I'm still working on her character a bit, but I think I got it mostly nailed down. I think she's going to be kind of a dreamer; a very nostalgic person who fantasizes/romanticizes life a bit too much at times. I'm also pretty set on her being a huge Peter Pan fan (both the movie and book), which I feel is pretty fitting with everything else I'm leaning towards with her character :) She came in pretty good condition honestly! Her hair needs a recurl, and she's got a few stains and such, but I've seen MUCH worse *cue Parker flashbacks* 'XD Also, can we talk about what a stunning doll Ruthie is?! I was nervous she'd end up looking a lot like Sarah from the catalog pics I'd always seen, but she is so unique and beautiful in person!! I also didn't realize she had the black and auburn Jess hair until she arrived, thought that was pretty neat! Goodness I miss the Best Friends line so much...
This also means I'm only missing one pre-Beforever historical doll now, which feels insane *-* Just need Marie Grace and my collection will be complete (unless a thrift store doll needs saving ;) ).
So that is my spooky, off topic fall photo shoot that's also kinda become a tradition during Villain Takeover Month lol!! XD Though this technically has a theme outside of just fall... and I'm doing another non-villain photo shoot that's also themed so... maybe I'll do a purely fall themed photo shoot in November idk LOLLLL!!
Anywho, how's life going, my friends? I've personally had a bit of a rough week (a lot of stuff that's just kinda piling up), but that's okay, such as life, I guess lol 'XD I did get to take doll pics this week so that's always pretty epic at least. Still working hard on DVTM posts and I'm honestly getting even more excited about what's in store this month! I just finished up sewing the outfits for the next post (outside of a few accessories) and that one I'm especially hyped about! The dolls that got casted into the roles I think fit so SO perfectly (well, technically one of them looks nothing like the character but I tried y'all bear with me I don't have a doll that looks like them LOLL)!! It makes this part of the process where everything starts coming together so dang cool!! :D
I've also been watching a lot of Halloween cartoons while I work on things, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been on loop more than once while I sewed up a storm lol! Do y'all have a favorite fall cartoon or movie that you like to watch each year? I think this year Charlie Brown has been my go-to, but in general The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is my all-time favorite. It's one of my favorite books too, actually! I reread it again for like the third year in a row, which if you know me is pretty crazy. I never reread books because my TBR is scattered all over my room at this point and I feel guilty not reading them XD I'm also a pretty big fan of the old Disney Halloween cartoons, my favorite growing up being Trick or Treat which I covered during Villain Takeover a few years back (Chick
HERE if you'd like to check it out), which funny enough, the cartoon just celebrated its 74th anniversary yesterday or the day before!
Well, I guess that brings us to the end of another post, I have to get back to work on prepping for the rest of the month and try to get at least a few comments answered. I hope you liked it and that Ruthie's reveal was a fun surprise (though if you follow me on Instagram and saw the unboxing this probably isn't a surprise at all... lol whoops!)! The next post will continue the lyric photo shoot adventure with something not quite Disney, but fun nonetheless ;) Definitely let me know in the comments which pic is your favorite and what Spooky Month cartoons or movies are your favorites!! I hope you have a stellar rest of your day and I'll catch you in the next post! God bless <3
